Concert Pipe Organ
WELCOME
I hope you find much to interest you among these pages, and that it may encourage some of you to start your own project and realise your own dream. My dream started in Cornwall 40 years ago, whilst holidaying with my parents. I was taken to St Agnes Steam Rally where I came upon an organ known as the "Cornish Dream". I sat there for several hours mesmerized by it's sound and hoped that one day I too would own something similar.
After many years I met up with Anthony Storey who is now a friend of long standing. He was heavily involved in Cinema organs and offered the help and bits to start me off with a prototype. Now over four years later, Colossus is now a regular at local fetes and steam events around Cambridgeshire. I owe much to Anthony for his advice and help throughout the project. As Colossus is controlled via a laptop computer, the name was decided upon as Colossus was the very first computer.
Other people I must express thanks to are Tom Meijer, my parents for encouraging me, and by no means least my wife Sally who put up with moans, groans, long hours away from home working on it, disappointments along the way and the quantities of food supplied to keep us going!
Colossus is dedicated to the memory of my dad, Frank and my Uncle Bill for the gift of music from the age of seven!

Additions News
Come See Colossus!
The latest project is to synchronise film footage to the music playing on the organ so that listeners have the opportunity to watch classic film as the organ accompanies it. Hopefully, this will be ready for the 2009 rally season! Wood block is currently being added and tested.

Probably the most unique organ in the United Kingdom. Colossus has a pleasurable warmth and depth due to the careful choice of pipework types and some marvellous arrangments!
